About Focus on Kids Hope Foundation

Focus on Kids Hope Foundation is a non-profit, community-based organization operating in Sierra Leone, dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children through Education and Child-Centred Health Interventions. The Foundation addresses critical gaps that limit children’s access to learning opportunities and basic healthcare, particularly in underserved and high-risk communities.

Sierra Leone continues to face significant challenges related to child poverty, school dropout rates, and limited access to essential health services. Focus on Kids Hope Foundation was established to respond directly to these challenges by delivering practical, community-driven solutions that protect children’s well-being and invest in their long-term development.

Our Mission

To improve Educational access and Health outcomes for vulnerable children in Sierra Leone by implementing inclusive, sustainable, and community-led programs.

The Need

Many children in Sierra Leone face barriers such as financial hardship, limited school resources, preventable illnesses, and inadequate health awareness. These challenges contribute to poor educational outcomes and long-term cycles of poverty. Without targeted intervention, the most vulnerable children remain at risk of exclusion from both education and healthcare systems.

Our Programs and Impact Areas

Education Access and Support
We support children’s education by facilitating school enrolment, providing learning materials, and strengthening community support for schooling. Our interventions aim to reduce dropout rates, improve attendance, and promote inclusive learning environments.

Child Health and Well-Being
The Foundation promotes child health through access to basic healthcare services, health education, and preventive care initiatives. By addressing common and preventable health challenges, we help children remain healthy enough to attend school and participate fully in learning.

Community-Based Implementation
All programs are implemented in close collaboration with local stakeholders, including families, schools, health workers, and community leaders. This participatory approach ensures cultural relevance, accountability, and sustainability beyond the life of funded projects.

Our Approach to Accountability and Sustainability

Focus on Kids Hope Foundation is committed to transparency, sound financial management, and measurable results. We maintain clear monitoring and reporting systems to track progress, outcomes, and impact. Our model emphasizes local capacity-building to ensure that donor investments generate long-term, community-owned benefits.

Partnership and Funding Opportunities

Donor and partner support enables the Foundation to expand its reach, strengthen existing programs, and scale proven interventions to additional communities across Sierra Leone. Funding will directly support program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and community engagement activities that deliver measurable improvements in children’s education and health.

Our Commitment to Impact

We believe that investing in children is the most effective pathway to sustainable development. With donor partnership, Focus on Kids Hope Foundation will continue to transform lives by ensuring that children are healthy, educated, and empowered to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
